My name is Carissa Navarra and I am a New York based actress, singer, dancer, and choreographer. I have been singing since I was 5 years old, acting since I was 12 years old, dancing since I was 15 years old and choreographing since I was 18 years old. I love all art forms and have made it a goal of mine to keep theatre, music and dance a part of my life forever.

My main goal is to be acting all over the country, or in New York City on Broadway. Musical Theatre is my strength, but I also love performing in plays and dance showcases. Performing and theatr have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I can't imagine not having it around; it has become who I am.

 

I have had the privilege to have played many characters in my career; some examples are Mayella Ewell in To Kill a Mockingbird, Stephanie Mangano in Saturday Night Fever, Wendy Jo in Footloose, Jennifer Honey in Matilda, Shelia Bryant in A Chorus Line, Jo from Euphoria, and Natalie in Next to Normal. I have also had the pleasure of performing at 54 Below in a concert series called DUETS where I got to work with other aspiring performers and artists that have made it on Broadway, such as John Cardoza and Rose Hemingway to name a few. I also have gotten to perform in a concert series called Women of the Wings which showcases female composers and lyricists. I am always willing to take on a challenge and step outside of my comfort zone, to hone in on my craft and become a better artist overall. I am very opened minded and always willing to try new things while collaborating with other team members. Theatre is an art form that always keeps growing and changing, and as a thespian, it is my job to evolve with it by learning everyday from others and myself.
